Course v/s college?
Which one to be given more preference while taking
admission?
It's time of the year when students looking for the
admission in bachelor's programme and the only university, which comes in their
mind is the central university i.e Delhi university. With every passing subsequent years thousands of students across
the country take admission in Delhi
university.
Good grades are a stepping stones towards getting into a
good college, getting a good job and eventually living a good life. Shun those
C’s, avoid those B’s and strive every single day, to get those A's..
So in this already stressful situation which students
facing is that what to do after 10+2,where
to took admission,in which course?
Only 2 questions which mainly grappling in students mind is
that
1. Which course to choose
2. Which college to go for
The general belief is to give extra value to either of the
decisions. There will be 2 opinion you get
while taking advice from someone one.
Firstly, there will be people who will tell you that the
course is more important and you should never compromise on this aspect of the
decision.
Guess what guys? They are right. The course is more
important as compared to college in which you are taking admission because what
you actually study in the next 3 following years should be something of your
interest.
However, second opinion people having another mindset and are
people who will preach that the college you go matters the most. This is so
because at the end of year course, the market value of your degree will be decided by the college you attend. so in the
practical world a person passing from Shri Ram College of Commerce or say Lady
Shri Ram for womens will have a greater value as a person in the job market
than someone passing out from Deen Dayal Upadhya ,Maharaja Agrasen,Rajdhani
college etc.
Guess what? This set of people is right too! What both these set of people are saying
makes complete sense and they just have 2 different approaches. therefore while
taking decision all you need to do is combine these 2 different approaches.
You have brains in
your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.
You're on your own.
And you know what you know.
You are the guy who'll decide where to go.
~Dr. Seuss
The main thing is that don't think you have to choose one
out of the 2 opinion but what you really need to do is to find a best
combination of both.
Try to maintain balance between the two choices by selecting
your choice of course in which you are having lot of interest and by selecting
a good college for that it must not necessary that you have to took admission
in top5 colleges only..there are various other colleges give them
one chance. I am sure you are not disappointed while studying at
unpopular or less market value colleges but on the positive side you can learn
many more things which may be you never have
an opportunity to learn at reputed colleges...it will be your best
experience try once!!
All The Best Guys!
