ACCOMMODATION FOR AN OUTSTATION STUDENT By Saloni Thakur

ACCOMMODATION FOR AN OUTSTATION STUDENT

So it is finally time to pack your old life into a few boxes and move out to a different city and start with a new life all together. There are various things one encounters which make it hard for students to accept this new life gracefully.  Of course missing home is one of them, also missing home cooked food is one issue which might at times make you hate this new world of yours. The luxuries of life are nowhere to be found and if you are a pampered child you are going to face some real trouble. The more adaptive you are the easier it becomes for you. But along with this there is a lot that you are going to enjoy and cherish. What you learn from staying alone can never be learnt with that constant guidance of the family. Getting yourself food or cooking to cleaning your room or washing your clothes make you more self reliant. And not to forget the freedom you get, will make you love your life. You get to meet new people, stay with them, make friends and finally exploring this new place will make your college life an unforgettable journey.
Along with all these things the most important issue is to look for an accommodation.  There are different options available to a student. You can move into a hostel or can pick up alternative accommodations like PG (paying guest) or flats.
·         HOSTELS
Hostels are one of the most common and preferred accommodations. Though not all colleges have hostel facility and many who do provide hostels have very limited seats. Therefore it’s considered the first choice for most outstation students and parents are keen on getting their child a seat. The major reason for it is the safety of this accommodation and comparatively lesser rent.
Students have to abide by the rules and regulations of the institute which are generally strict. These may be in the form of curfew deadlines or even leave regulations .Hostel mess food might also be an issue for many.  But all this will not stop you from enjoying your college life or for that matter hostel life.  This will bring you irreplaceable memories and lifelong friendships.

·         PG ACCOMMODATION
Paying guest accommodations are easily available around all colleges. It is one of the fastest growing businesses in Delhi. You will have a wide range of such accommodations to choose from providing different facilities and charging different rents. Food issues are not very common here because generally the owners and cooperative are open to suggestions regarding food. Curfew deadlines, adjustment issues with roommates and extremely high rents at certain places may be a problem.

·         FLATS
For many owning an own house and having full freedom along with being completely independent might be like a dream come true. But all these rosy imaginations are not that rosy. Managing a house on one’s own becomes a very cumbersome task. Grocery shopping, dealing with the daily dramas of the maids or bargaining with the vegetable vendors makes flat life hard and troublesome. Even if you do plan to move to a flat it’s important to consider the safety of the locality and it’s always good to share a flat than staying alone.  The benefits of calling your friends over any time or having a house party cannot be ignored. Also every time your parents visit you they have a place to stay. Shared flats generally costs lesser than a PG accommodation.

So before selecting an accommodation all the pros and cons should be taken into consideration and finally the one best suited for your comfort and convenience should be selected. Three important factors to be considered are proximity from the college, rent and most importantly safety.
ALL THE BEST!

Expectation Vs Reality By Thakur Gargi

Expectation Vs Reality

Entering in a college is like entering into a new world. The aura is different when you enter the premises. There is a lot of excitement of meeting new people and getting to know them. It's a place where new and stronger bonds of friendship are made and also one can do what he/she wants to. LIVE FREE. FEEL FREE. One can do whatever one wishes to but the reality is far different instead one has to put on mugging's hat to pass on the semester.
Where one goes on with a firm decision to study hard, the last night fights are most common. Assignments are not for checking your intellectual ability but as to check on your presentation skills and coping skills.
Some are also fanatical dreamers inspired by bollywood heroes. They think that they will get struck by a girl mistakenly and they will see eye to eye. A background music will go on and they will live happily ever after.
Instead the game is a bit different. This is not bollywood . Here you will have to follow a girl for 3-4 days. If there is any signal from her side then you will have to be gutsy enough to go and talk to her. Rest is an enigma.
So that's a lot of struggle. A lot I think.
We don't have to give answers as to why’s and what's to our parents. The only answer they seek is when will you be getting your good paying full time job and that's a big question.
But the best thing is that you get to a make a hell of good friends. They will be with you from coping assignments to cheating in exams, bunking to proxy. They are partners in all your crimes and that's the beauty of whatever the expectations and reality are. You always have a friend with you in all your reality struggles.

#First Day Of College Is #Right Ahead by Manisha Panchal

#First Day Of College Is #Right Ahead

Anticipation of meeting new people, the confusion of a new environment, the anxiety of the amount of work to do and perhaps the excitement of preparing your future. Those of us who are college veterans will never forget our freshman year at college. Some of us may like to forget our freshman year ,but in general it is a time filled with an anticipation, some anxiety, and wonderful discoveries.
For faculty, each year is a new beginning; new faces, new energy, and new discussions differ for many of these first-time students.
College is definitely a whole different ballgame compared to high school. Everyone has told you and you have probably spent the last two months of summer break psyching yourself up for the moment you walk on campus. But the truth is college is totally different. Classes are all throughout the day, you have no one telling you what to do in your free time, and of course, classes are everywhere across the campus. No one wants to end up walking around the campus.
When the first day of classes arrives, gives yourself enough time to shower, drink coffee, and perform all your other morning rituals. You're going to be excited and a little nervous about your first class, which is totally natural. Just stay calm and you will make it through the day. And ask for help when you need it: every student on campus has experienced what you are going through , and they will all be able to guide you through your first day.
The college experience is one that holds many pleasant memories, you may begin the journey as a scared mice, out in the open desert but make the best of it and trudge forward becoming a 'willful tiger'.
Make your first day with some of the good memories because it will not get back again ever.
Enjoy the Day,You can never have another first day of your first year of college classes.

Journalism –mass communication By Asmita Sharma

Journalism –mass communication.

A lot of people believe that journalism is all about fun, cameras, advertising and marketing and they get into the course thinking that it’s everyone’s cup of tea and anyone can do it. Yes anybody can fit into this course but only if they have aptitude towards this course. This course is not only about cameras and ads, it’s much more. Course structures would start from the very basics, it will cover the history and origin of modern mass Medias, cover print media, broadcast extensively and separately.

The Delhi University’s course structure focuses on the communication strategies, models, theories, History of print, broadcast, radio, online journalism, media laws, ethics, film production, media studies, marketing, camera etc.

You will have to submit news reporting assignments; will have to make scripts of new broadcast and radio broadcast. You will learn theories of marketing and advertisements too.
People who are not passionate about journalism, news and writing often find it difficult to adjust with the course.

Bjmc will offer you practical training for documentary production, film production etc but the level of practical exposure depends from university to university.

Even if you don’t want to enter into hardcore journalism and want to work on films or on ads, you will still have to go through the entire course. You will have to learn basic work of a copy writer, reporter etc. Journalism is about information, this information can be news, an advertisement or film and the course will teach you how to create, edit, publish, spread and develop channels.

If you have thirst for knowledge, If you like playing with words (But my dear it’s not about rhyming words or debating) it’s about molding content and information into a readable piece , expressing yourself without biases,  making a boring news interesting ,  going beyond books and laptop screens and learning to work on field.

People often think career opportunities after journalism and mass communication are limited and scarce but that is not true. Journalism is linked to many disciplinary courses so it provide various job profiles and also it is an  ever growing and one of the most fast pace developing industry in our country today.

As I Reach DU

As I Reach DU

Problems faced while travelling to colleges in North campus
Travelling to colleges is a big challenge. Students studying in DU face a daily headache while travelling. There are three aspects in this problem mode of travelling whether it is a metro or a bus, secondly the time that is consumed due to jam and thirdly cost that is the major issue. To reduce the cost of travelling students prefer bus but this consumes more time. Also while travelling in bus girls have to face various assaults. They have to come across people who intentionally touch them to make them feel uncomfortable.
Also the bus service has reduced these days due to which students cannot timely attend the classes.
Students who use their own vehicles face parking problems. They aren’t provided parking within college premises and parking their vehicles outside creates traffic jam.
For those who travel by metro, have to pay extra rickshaw and auto fares which increase their monthly budget of travelling.
There must be some steps taken to increase women security while travelling in buses. Also fares of rickshaws at these educational hubs must be taken to consideration. Most importantly bus services must be increased for the buses which are the major ones connecting the colleges. These problems must be eradicated to make travelling for students efficient, effective and easy.

COLLEGE – THE NEW BEGINNING By RISHABH ARYA

COLLEGE – THE NEW BEGINNING

Till now, you must have read a lot about how college is going to be like. And the purpose of this article is the same. But what makes this one different is that here are some points that every freshman should read so that your campus life does turn out what you expect it to be like (somewhat):

1. THE FIRST DAY (rather, the FIRST SEMESTER)
You are most likely to find yourself in a pretty lonely spot, friendless and wondering why the bloody heck you are where you are. You seem to observe yourself amongst creatures that are far different from you in every aspect. Though consider yourself lucky if you find a person like you or made some friends on the orientation day (if you attended it that is).
It is understandable that you might feel pathetic about your whereabouts. It’s okay because the awesomeness is yet to fill in the ambience. Just like you, there are a lot of awesome people who are yet to crack open themselves. Here’s a pro tip for you and those people: DONT JUST HOLE UP IN YOURSELF. GET UP, GET OUT AND SOCIALISE.
Getting out of your comfort zone can really make you a hero. It will help you make friends rather than acquaintances plus you will inspire people to get comfy too. See! You are a hero already and that too within a week.
2. SNIFF SOME SOCIAL AIR
College time leaves you with a ton of free time. Trust me, it does. As every good thing comes with great responsibility, utilize your newfound freedom and be smart. Cut back from solitary amusements and make friends, ‘contacts’, and more over feel like a responsible and an awesome person.
3. GETTING OVER THINGS
Get over the idea that your parents will still ask you as to what the teacher taught you today. You are more like an adult now who needs to take the responsibility of their own actions. Be independent, you will like it.
Secondly, getting over your home sickness can prove to be slightly hard but not impossible. One might feel nostalgic, missing your colony friends or your pet, etc. But it’s okay. If it gets too hard, go for the on campus counselling services.

So these were just a very few out of a lot of points about how you can think of college as. It feels strange in the beginning only to make you comfortable later on. So don’t worry, these point might help you have a good start of your campus life. But do remember that college is as much about finding out who you really are as it is about getting that degree. So stay tuned as more points are yet to come.

10 College Wardrobe Essentials By Urvi Gupta

10 College Wardrobe Essentials

Since the ‘back to college’ days are approaching, here are the 10 wardrobe essentials which will make your life a heck of a lot easier. So if you are planning to go out shopping for college, do have a look. Hopefully this should be pretty helpful for all the college kids out there. So here it goes.
1. Basic T-Shirts
The first most essential piece of cloth has to be the basic tees. Black, white and grey are my personal favorites. They go with everything. Trust me, EVERYTHING be it denim jeans, shorts, skirts. You just need to know how to build up on them.
2. Formal Shirt
They will help you in the times of interviews, presentations, speeches etc, when you want people to take you seriously. Don’t limit it to black or white. Go with your personal choice.
3. A Denim Shirt/Jacket
It is surely a must have girls. It will go with everything be it a cute floral dress or a summer cotton blouse. It will always enhance your look. And guess what it will save you from the sun tan as well. :P
4. Dark-wash skinny Jeans
Specifically a dark-wash because it gives a classic and flattering look. It will be a staple piece you will always want to wear. Choose the one which fits you very well.
5. Floral Spring Dress
A cute floral one piece dress has to be in your wardrobe this summer. Pick yours from all the florescent happy colors and show your personal style with a cute hairstyle and let the heads turn.
6. Crop Tops
Crop tops have become so common these days that they have become a must have. So girls don’t give it a second thought, go get yours. You can pair it up with your denim jeans, high waist jeggings, slacks, shorts etc etc.
7. Little Black Dress
With the beginning of college those fresher’s parties will also start. That little black dress would rescue you from all the worries. Pair your little black dress with a statement neckpiece and a pair of heels and you are ready to hit the floor ladies.
8. Chunky Scarves
It acts as a great accessory in this summer. It will protect you from all sorts of hot summer winds while travelling. And you can dress up all black and put on a statement scarf and you are good to go. Girls, a great scarf will make the biggest difference.
9. Tote bags
They are big enough to carry your books and all the other essential things you would need in college. I would suggest going for a black and a white one as they would go with every outfit.
10. Sneakers/Flip-flops
Sneakers are the most comfortable thing you can wear to college. With all the travelling and tiring hectic days at college, sneakers will keep your feet happy. Go for the neon and florals this summer as summer 2015 is all about florals.
I hope these tips will help you in shopping for your college wardrobe collection or otherwise too.
Happy shopping divas :)

GET SET By Kashika Kaur Walla

GET SET

Hello freshers!
As August is nearing, there is one question on everyone’s mind; “Which college?”. While some of you must have already finalised what course and college they are joining, the others would be anticipating the much awaited cut-offs of the Delhi University.
First things first, in order to be prepared for the admission procedures of Delhi University,  you must have at least an idea of what college you’re aiming for and which courses are in your priority. An easier way to have an idea about the cut-offs is by checking the previous year lists and then getting an estimate. This ensures you about which colleges are within your aggregate.
Another important thing is the aggregate, while a few courses and colleges like St. Stephen’s College set up a minimum percentage requirement in specific subjects, others don’t. So, it is advisable to check up the requirements while viewing the percentage lists released by the colleges. The aggregate is the percentage of your best 4 subjects. This aggregate specifically includes English. Also, additional subjects like Physical Education and Engineering, Drawing, etc are not counted by most of the colleges.
Again, read up the requirements while viewing the lists released by colleges. It all does sound a bit overwhelming, but rest assured, once you clear the cut-off, admission into a Delhi University college can be one of the simplest processes, just don’t forget to carry your original documents and multiple photocopies!
Wishing you all the Best of Luck!

PHILOSOPHY HONOURS By Shubhangi Negi

PHILOSOPHY HONOURS

B.A.(Hons) Philosophy - Stands for Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Philosophy. Typically, B.A.(Hons) Philosophy is a three year course. Honors is the main focus or specialization of one's UG degree. Philosophy is the study of fundamental and general problems associated with matters such as mind, reason, values, existence, knowledge and language. The students under this degree focus on Ethics and value theory, Philosophy of mind and language, Philosophy of action, Philosophy of film, Philosophy of mathematics and Philosophy of religion.
Basic Eligibility
Candidates seeking admission in a bachelor’s degree must pass the higher secondary school certificate (10+2) from a recognized university. Usually the duration for UG course is 3 years.
Course structure
·         First year involves subjects like Traditional Logic, Informal Fallacies, Elements of Indian Philosophy, Truth Functional Logic, Qualification Theory, 1 qualifying language (usually Hindi) and one credit language (English)
·         The subjects taught in the second year are History of Western Philosophy Part I & II and Ethics I. Students also have an option of choosing between Social and Political Philosophy and Greek Philosophy during this year. One interdisciplinary and one discipline centred (concurrent) subjects are also to be studied. Every college offers different concurrent subjects.
·         This year entails studying Texts of Indian Philosophy, Ethics II and a discipline centred course. There is choice between Philosophy of Science, Philosophy of Logic and Philosophy of Language. One subject is also to be chosen from Contemporary Philosophy, Later Greek Philosophy and Aesthetics.
The first year has logic and elements of Indian philosophy.
In the second year, history of western philosophy and social political philosophy or Greek philosophy are taught.
The final year includes ethics, Indian Philosophy (text) and aesthetics/ contemporary philosophy/ later Greek philosophy.
Most colleges offer philosophy as an interdisciplinary credit course for other honours courses as well as a discipline course in BA (programme).
Who should pursue Philosophy (Hons)
·         God. Morality. Mind. Reality. Art. If you want to spend three years engaging with some of the biggest and hardest questions with which humanity has ever grappled then Philosophy BA (Hons) is the degree for you.

It plunges you into the world of religion, spirituality and ethics, and makes you ponder the logic behind it all.
Where will Philosophy Honors take me?
In general, any Honors degree adds to the prestige of your B.A. If you decide not to pursue further studies, your Honors degree tells potential employers that you are intelligent, articulate and capable of self-directed research. If you want to pursue post-graduate studies, such as an M.A. or Ph.D., an Honors degree is an essential first step.
Why do Honors?
Philosophy students are accustomed to evaluating reasons. One reason to do Honors is obviously the prestige of the degree, or the opportunity to go on to further studies. But the best reasons are much simpler. First, in Honors, you’ll get to undertake further study in areas of philosophy that you are interested in. In your thesis you’ll be expected to add something of your own to the ongoing conversation that is the history of philosophy. That’s exciting and challenging. Second, you should do Honors in philosophy precisely because it’s hard. You won’t know whether you are truly excellent if you don’t try.
Career options
·         Philosophy graduates can find jobs in India as well as in foreign countries. They can also find job opportunities in the following sectors such as student affairs, public service, journalism, research, law, diplomacy, insurance, etc.
·         Students who have done research on philosophy can opt for teaching jobs in research institutes, universities and in colleges.
·         Philosophy graduates can also work as advisors, lobbyist, clergy person survey, specialist in HR, interviewer, consultant, etc.
·         They also have options like management studies, hotel management, law, social work, public services (UPSC), creative writing, research and defence services (ground duties).
·         The remuneration earned by counselors and psychiatrists is mostly good.
Internships camps
·         Students pursuing philosophy can attend and participate in various seminars and conferences related to their course.
·         Students can also assist faculty members and post graduate students in the various research projects undertaken by them.
·         They can also get their research papers and studies published in various Philosophy ans Arts journals published by universities.
·         Philosophy graduates can intern as journalists in media houses, can work under lawyers, do social work or try their luck in HR.
Expectations
·         By the end of this programme, you will be able to understand complex and demanding texts, reason intelligently and imaginatively about ethical, metaphysical and epistemological issues, and have a grasp of the advantages and problems of a wide range of metaphysical and moral views.
·         The Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) will ensure you develop high-level research and communication skills that prepare you for the challenges of achieving the highest international standards of excellence.
·         One will develop valuable skills in advanced problem-solving, critical thinking, independent learning and communication.

Best colleges
·         BA (honours) philosophy is offered in 13 DU colleges, 10 of which are only for women.
·         The course is offered in Daulat Ram, Gargi, IP College, Kamala Nehru, Lady Shri Ram, Miranda House, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, St Stephen's, among others.

Back Up courses
If you don’t get into Philosophy (Hons) then the next best course according to your interest would be Sociology (Hons). You can also go for Psychology (Hons) (although it has statistics has one of its subjects).

THiS wAy oR tHaT WaY?? By Karishma Kathuria

THiS wAy oR tHaT WaY?????

I dont know what I want. There, I said it. Im a college junior and Im confused, which is scary because juniors are supposed to have it together by now, right? Well, after being at war with my thoughts and contemplating a lot, I found out the answer is yes and no.
In high school, I had my life planned out. I knew what I wanted and I was about to go achieve it. Now, Im not sure. Im starting to question my choices and if I made the right ones when it comes to my major. How is it possible to be so in love with something and then end up having conflicting thoughts about it? Ive learned that its O.K. to just be confused. Its O.K. to question things, because life is about being happy and if something is bothering you then talk it out and figure out what makes your heart happy.
I started off freshman year of college ready to become a journalist. But today I am more interested in dietics and nutrition.
Now, Im not sure if I made the right decision. Do I follow something I used to love or do I follow something that has completely taken me by surprise and I am now starting to like it?
College is about making these hard decisions about what you want and what makes you happy. Its O.K. to be unsure, and its O.K. to second guess your decisions because it allows you to figure out if you are doing the right thing or not.

One way ; Or another By Pooja Joshi

   One way ; Or another

If you are looking forward for Journalism as your career option , and facing the deadly combination of not cracking IP University entrance exam and your marks doesn’t satisfy Delhi University cut offs . Then keep calm in midst of all pressure and tension bestowed on you by internal and external forces. No need to worry, just believe yourself and your target.
Face this obstacle smartly by applying for other colleges. Some colleges which could be taken into consideration are:-
1.  Amity University
2.  IAAN School of Mass Communication
3.  Noida International University , School of Journalism and Mass Communication
4.  Delhi Film Institute
5.  MASSCOMEDIA
6.  Editworks School of Mass Communication
Do more research about other such colleges. Become spectacle and go into the details of different colleges, then choose accordingly.
As Martin Luther Jr. has said, “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.”
Groom your skills to such level that when God wants to grant you fortune. He asks you what you want. You have to prove that it is not only the college from which you are pursuing the course defines you , rather put your all eggs in one basket to achieve your target and reach the point of exaltation in your life.

Counseling Process By Mudita Jha

12 steps for the Counselling process in IPU

1. First step is paying counselling fees. You have to pay Rs. 1000 as counselling fees. Payment options will be mentioned on IPU website.
2. After the payment of fees, wait for the choice filling dates to be out.
3. Now the option of choice filling has been activated , you have to make a list of colleges according to your priority. College name, course name and college shift has to be filled. This process should be done very carefully.
 4. The college, course and shift should be arranged in this way, that the option with the most priority should be on the top and then accordingly you've to arrange your choices.
5. After this, first round of cut off list comes out. A college may/may not be allotted to you.  But this doesn't signifies the final allotment.
 6. If you've been allotted a seat, you've to pay Rs. 40000 in IPU main campus, dwarka. If you've got your desired seat, you can freeze it. But there's always a chance for upgradation. So it's suggested, don't freeze it.
 7. And if you haven't been allotted any seat, just wait for next 2 rounds. Although there's always a rough idea with the previous year cutoffs. You can refer to them. Cut offs are almost same.
 8. After a college has been allotted to you in third round, there can be two options. Either you freeze your seat and do the further process for admission in given college. Or you wait for the spot round counselling.
 9. Although, last year there were many legal complications with this spot round so it'd be suggested, just take up the seat allotted to you in third round and then only apply for the spot round.
 10. Now, after the seat allotment in third round, you've to visit your allotted college. And then you've to pay the amount of fees left. Payment options will be mentioned on the IPU website.
 11. With the payment, you have to get your documents verified. The documents will also be mentioned on the website. Plus keep 2 extra photocopies of all the documents while verification.
 12. And tadaaa, you're finally done with it :D

FROM AN ALL GIRLS SCHOOL TO AN ALL GIRLS COLLEGE By Preksha Jain

FROM AN ALL GIRLS SCHOOL TO AN ALL GIRLS COLLEGE

Extremely conscious about your clothing? Or behavior? Or nuisance personality?
Haha! I have never been. Perks of studying in an all girls school and now in all girls college. You just don't have to think twice before uttering crap. No tongue-check before saying any random 'girly' stuff. No check on how you sit in the class after all 'we are all girls dude.' To be honest, yes it felt a little disappointing coming to a girls college where the only males you see are your teachers or workers *with due respect* and even a little baby boy becomes the centre of attraction. Ah! Crazy we! But you know what! It actually felt good. Being around with your girlfriends all day. No 'he's looking at me' drama. Talk. Share. Gossip the way one feels like because we're all girls. Having 'bouys' talks freely and LOUDLY. And my favorite being, teasing friends with the 'teacher crush' thing and laughing when she blushed or even when unintentionally attends all his lectures. Studying in an all girls college has a unique experience in its own. I love being a part of it. ;)

DELHI UNIVERSITY - “Livin' la Vida Loca" By Saurabh Bhatia

DELHI UNIVERSITY - “Livin' la Vida Loca"

So you have accomplished the first task of seeking astonishing marks in your board exams and proving everyone wrong who all ever doubted you. Now anxiety will kill you day by day as you wait for the sky touching cut offs to come down so that you can get the admission in the college you always wished for.
But believe me when I say this, getting into DU will be one of the most amazing things that will ever happen to you. Let me tell you how:-
1). A platform of Opportunities: In every college of DU, you will see various types of societies that you can get into and learn and work from. Even if you don’t like any of them and you think you have the caliber, you can open your own society, thus giving you the platform of opportunities.
2). You’ll grow as a person: Another perk of studying in DU is that it will change you in a person you never thought you are capable of becoming. The amount of exposure and experience you will get in the college will help you to become a better you.
3). Running into friends for life:  As DU comprises of so many colleges and has students from all over India, you may never know when you bump into your someone special or maybe your future BFF with whom you share all your secrets with. (Talking from experience)
4). Food Lovers: Yes Yes Yes you heard it right, Food! You’re in Delhi and the best thing about it is the variety of food they serve you with. Some of the best mouthwatering American Cheese Burgers and Golgappas you’ll have in your life. My special place is BYD in South Campus as it is cheap and the quality is great.
5). No Formals: You must be hearing your friends whining about wearing formals every day and be all neat and tidy. Livin la vida Loca Ji. Freedom to wear whatever you feel comfortable in, whether you are a fashion freak or a lousy unhygienic person, you get the freedom to wear whatever you desire.

This was just a sneak peek to the adventure you will face in DU. Wish all the fresher’s a great year ahead.

My First Day At College By Sarabpreet kaur

My First Day At College

Have you guys ever thought 'what your first day at college will be like or should be like?'. I have and  I'm sure you all must have.
I still remember my first day at college. I had looked forward to this day from my school days. I woke up early, which was quite unusual. Obviously, I had to get ready and be on time. After reaching the college, I entered with a mixed feeling of excitement and frightening fear of ragging. I found out from the reception that G-5 was my classroom. I entered the class as if I was entering a new world where I knew nobody and without even looking at anybody I quickly grabbed a seat on the first bench.
I felt awkward sitting in the class doing nothing. So, I thought of exploring my phone menu. Few minutes later, a girl came and sat next to me. Her name was 'Inu Agarwal'. I need not to tell you what happens when two girls meet as strangers,  they either becomes best friends or end up becoming enemies. Fortunately, we managed to become best friends. Soon chatting around became normal.
After few minutes, the bell rang. First lecture was about to start and a teacher entered the class 'Ms. Rekha'. She introduced herself and asked us to introduce ourselves to rest of the class. Everybody gave their introduction and soon the lecture came to an end. Rekha ma'am left the class and we all went to the canteen where our seniors were waiting for us to rag.
Everything went smoothly.  I met many new people, some of them became my very good friends. I was a bit nervous at first but when the day ended I was quite happy. Though, it wasn't really a very special day.

IT STILL FEELS LIKE YESTERDAY By INU AGGARWAL

IT STILL FEELS LIKE YESTERDAY

I remember my 1st day in college. I was excited to meet new people. It was a bit difficult at first to be with people I never knew. I was trying to adjust with new people and everything went smoothly. I met wonderful people whom I still call best friends. Every time when we meet up we recall those moments that we have shared together .“wo har roz late jaana “ , “phone kar k ek dusre ko tang karna “,“bunk karna “ ,”teachers ka mazak banana “, “ lectures mein sona “,“raat raat bhar group par baat karna aur maze karna “. It still feels like yesterday. There are no responsibilities to take care of family on issues related to me. College was like a roller coaster ride of ups and downs but with having a great bunch of friends, it makes you live your life to the fullest. Having wonderful friends makes college one of the best experiences of life. I have learned many things and the fun we had for 3 years was full of adventure and full of enjoyment .After stepping in the real world you will never remember the classes but yes you will remember the time that you have shared with your friends and the memories. Everything ends and in the last you are only left with the memories,We don’t know how time flies, how everything changes only you know is that u are in the best part of your life which you will never get.So stay out late on Monday hang out with your friends on Tuesday when you have exam on Wednesday.Spend money because the work never ends but college life does.
