Life in Girl’s College
Getting admission in a
girl’s college is one tough decision for a girl who has come from a co-ed
school because she has never experienced something like this and looking at so
many girls together is actually difficult. I had the same story when I came to
Delhi for admission. Never did I think that I will take admission in a girl’s
college but then you never know what destiny has in store for you and so I got
admission in a girl’s college. I didn’t know what it is to be in one meant,
until I went to the college for my first day, so many girls I had never seen
together in my lifetime. I was scared and nervous because I didn’t know whether
I wanted to be there or not, I wanted to run away and take admission anywhere
but here. But after successfully passing
3 years in the college if there is one thing that I could say about my journey
then it is that this journey of mine has made me who I am today and if nothing
else I am extremely proud of myself for the kind of person that I have turned
out to be.
Though the journey had
its ups and downs. There were times when I thought this college is the worst
thing that has happened to me because let’s face it, some girls are really mean
and some teachers too, but there were times when I felt that this is possibly
one of the best experiences I have had. I became best friends with two girls
who supported me throughout, who told me that not all girls are mean or
sometimes stupid, they had my back when I couldn’t trust guys, they told me
which DP on Facebook would be the best. Believe me girls, you can’t do that
with boys. This college gave me courage to speak for what I felt was right and
power to believe in things and stand by them, not that I was shy but the
confidence you get with girls is sometimes not possible with boys around and
that is why being in a girl’s college proved to be one of the best decisions
for me.
The best part is that
you don’t have to think how you dress up, how you speak because with girls around
everything is fine in fact they give you a lot of knowledge on topics you can’t
discuss with boys. This experience empowers you in the best possible way, it
gives you a chance to trust yourself and become what you are supposed to be.
You might regret being there every day but the experience you get there is not
what you would get in a co-ed college, it brings out the feminist in you, makes
you independent, sensitive and strong. This experience you don’t get anywhere
else. Most of the girls might wonder at this time of admission, if to choose a
girl’s college or not but as an experienced person I
would suggest that if you get a girl’s college then don’t back out because of
this reason.
Yeah, you might not want
to experience this again but still you’d love each day of your college, each
experience and challenge that it brings with itself and if I am not wrong and
if you get a group of friends like I did then this would turn out to be one of
your best experiences.
