The Million Dollar Question by Shubhra Sharma

The Million Dollar Question

The admission seeking phase of our lives seems quite exhausting. The board exam results, the cutoffs, admission criteria’s, college preferences, course selection, numerous options or none at all build up stress for a certain period of time.

In life we often find ourselves stuck at a place with multiple diverging roads and the best one has to be chosen. Applying all the permutations and combinations, a result has to be derived upon leading to a brighter future.

The post school phase is a crucial one. The burning question comes where one has to choose between a better course and a better college.

The point is, definition of ‘better’ may vary significantly for every individual.

One may find a course with good job opportunities attractive and for another, a course of interest may seem desirable for the future. Similarly in college, one with high rank may seem appealing to some and to others, one near to the home or with good faculty, placement or cultural activities.  Most of the times, there is a debate on choosing course over college or college over course. Views vary here too. Some believe a good college gives a foundation for the future and a happening environment makes college years worth living and exploring. On the other hand some say course is all that matters, as the future entirely depends on it.

The decision making process is tough, indeed!

It will not be right if I press my universal opinions and judge what’ s right or wrong for you or any other , all because the surroundings, situation  or the pros and corns  can be evaluated and decided by you and not me or any other. You may seek advice, but never blindly follow what the other person tells you to.

All you need to do is pick up a pen and paper, draw two columns and make a list of pros and corns.  Analyze the weight of every point and compare it with another.

It can occur that a certain college is well known and everybody claims has a good crowd but do not offer the particular course you want. Well, you can take admission in that particular college if you feel you can do good in future even with the available course but if the course is absolutely not of interest or college is far from your home, the inconvenience caused will be much higher than the benefits you thought you would get.

There can be many such situations which would leave you in such a dilemma of varying degrees.

Grab all the information you need, seek advice from experts, friends or parents, and then decide for yourself how you want your life to be. You’re the master of your life.

Explore. Think. Act.

Goodluck!

Journey to a girl's college

A step towards a new world, or a step out of the delicate school life and a journey towards the college life. In other words, the hunt to the find the treasure behind the final destination of our lives.

One of the most valuable & one of the most difficult decisions of life.

A number of questions running across our minds, should one follow his/her interest, or live upto the parent’s expectations and dreams or just a reputed college is enough??

When I was taking admission after my 10+2 these same thoughts were wandering in my mind, but the answer was one word & simple.

My INTEREST.

This was not all, there was something more behind the locks. Another dilemma that was waiting, for me was that the course for which I was aspiring was available only in one Co-ed college & rest were all Girls college. So, I was confused regarding my decision that should I go for a girls college in college life or not,  will it be boring? Or is it a right decision?

Admission to a girls college comes up as a big question or sometimes a feeling of hesitation and akward situation between students. As we all expect fun in our so-called  college life that we couldn't ever experience in our school life. Some of us even get the biggest gift of life; we get our life partners in that crowd. People usually think its not fun being in girls college, but the reality is quite different. It's even more fun being in a girl's college. A lot to discover about yourself, you can be the real you, you have a lot of stuffs to gossip and hangout at the coolest places with your girlfriends, you can be part of competitions and enjoy without any hesitation, you can be as crazy as you want to be & theres nothing to be shy of or show off.

So if you think girls college is boring let me tell you its much more cool being out there. There's a lot to admire and explore in oneself while reaching your goals in life. Eventually you would see that this part of girls college life turns out to be the most happening, coolest, funkiest part of your journeys.

So if you are ready to be a part of girls college then you should know that the most memorable life is waiting out for you. And if you still think why girls college then ask yourself a question ; Are boys the only element of your fun? Is the presence of boys that essential to you & your fun?

And if this is so, then let me tell you that you are mistaken my dear.

There is a lot more than this article about this journey which can't be defined in words or these articles. Come up & see what does this world have for you.

Remember!

Never judge a book by its cover.
