#Booze North #campus by Vallari

#Booze North #campus by Vallari

North campus is known for its pocket friendly cafes/restaurants but at times it is task to find a decent yet pocket friendly bar/ lounge. Here is a complete guide for an economical booze in and around north canpus.

Urban hub
Yes, you heard it right.  900 for two including alcohol. They're not only know for their live sports screening but also for the happy hours that go all day long on weekdays. Along with pocket friendly sheeshas they also offer combos which include both snaks and alcohol. Though snaks and main course have nothing special about there taste there sheesha with coffee base makes up for it.

Bromfy public house
It's one of the most popular lounge amongst north campus students. It's not only known for its cheap sheesha and alcohol but also for its nice music and classy ambience. Unlike other bars/ lounges the food has been paid enough attention to and is quite tasty.
PS. Don't forget to try their fresh fruit sheeshas.

The Beer Cafe
As the name suggests they are known for their never ending variety of beers. The ambiance is very cheerful and not shady like other pubs in league. Though prices are a bit on higher side the service is quick and food served fresh & tasty.

Deez Biryani & Kebabs
They not only serve one of the best biryanis in city but they also conduct regular live performances and sports screenings. The drinks are moderately priced and the service is quite quick. A must visit if you want to indulge in GOOD FOOD along with not so expensive alcohol.

Sinciti ( chill'm)
They are know for their dirt cheap sheeshas and cooperative staff. They food is simple and hygienic. Overall a nice place to sit, chat and fun with your friends or the special one. ;)

Yes, booze is fun and it's okay to indulge in it once in a while but too much anything isn't good, no matter if it's something as good as alcohol. Life is a bitch, deal with it !

#College #life – most happening days by Puja Yadav

College life – most happening days

School days are the most perfect days of our life but college days are the most happening.

We meet new people, see new places and  take a step towards our career.

But colleges are not meant for studies only. There is life beyond professor’s lectures. Most of the students believed this after spending some time in college.

Parthsarthy Rocks in Jawahar Lal Nehru University[JNU] campus.

It is a gem of green spaces. One of the coolest places to hangout with friends and for couples to cuddle up in quiet corners.

It just 5km distance from Hauz Khas metro station and after that you will be at the highest point in Delhi having wonderful wildlife like peacocks, foxes, scorpions and snakes though they don't bite and don't come out in daytime. The best time to visit this place is evenings watching sunsets, winds blowing and peacocks wandering around.

Very few people know about this place. It is one of the secrets of Delhi. This place reminds me of those lines from a song :

Zindagi ek safar hai suhana..yaha kal kya ho kisne jana….

Tips for #College Notes Taking - by Arpita Singhal

Tips for College Notes Taking

While you might have been able to slide by without taking notes in high school, learning to take good notes is essential for most college students. Taking poor notes, or not taking notes at all, can have a detrimental effect on your grades. Read on to learn some tips and tricks for getting the most out of your classes and readings.

Pay Attention
More essential than any note-taking strategy is paying attention.Focus on what the instructor is presenting, and make an effort to learn the material right then and there:
  1. Sit in a place where you can see and hear the professor clearly - the front of class is usually best (it's okay to be a nerd!).
  2. Clear your space of any distractions that could prevent you from focusing on the class.
  3. If you're taking notes on a computer, turn off your wireless connection so you're not tempted to go online.

Take Good Notes in Class
Remember that you're a student, not a court reporter. You don't need to write down every word the instructor says.Write in phrases, not whole sentences, and use abbreviations to save time and hand cramps. Here are some of the things you'll typically want to include in your notes:
  1. Info the professor puts on the board.
  2. Facts you need to memorize, like names and dates.
  3. Formulas you need to know, particularly in math or science courses.
  4. Details emphasized by your professor (keep your ears perked up for signal phrases such as 'the most essential part is...' or 'this will be on the test').

Take Good Notes on Readings
You'll have a lot more reading in college than ever before, and you'll sometimes need to refer back to specific passages for class discussions, exams, and essays. Here are some methods for taking notes on key ideas:
  1. Highlight or underline text.
  2. Use small sticky notes or flags, noting the line number, paragraph number, or first few words of text.
  3. Write down info you want to remember in your notebook or on loose leaf paper, noting the page and paragraph numbers.
  4. Record your thoughts in the margins as you read.
  5. Write down any words or concepts you find challenging and want to spend more time on later .

Organize Your Notes
Notes are pretty useless if they can't help you find information later. It's essential to write legibly and keep everything organized. There are no hard-and-fast rules for note organization, just find a system that works for you. Here are a few ideas:
  1. Write the course name and date at the top of each page, just in case some pages get separated.
  2. Keep all of your materials and reading notes for each course together.
  3. Arrange your notes chronologically.

Experiment and Find What Works for You
Ultimately, you'll need to decide which note-taking strategies work best for you. Fortunately, you'll get regular feedback through grades on exams and quizzes. If your grades are good, keep the system you've got. If your grades could be better, do some readjusting.

GOOD LUCK :D

5 #college must haves by Vallari

5 college must haves

College life is the most awaited time of a students life,  as it brings one certain kind of freedom , freedom from strict deadlines, rules & regulations of school and of course, school uniforms! While you plan to flood your wardrobe with the trendiest of clothes and accessories , here are a few basic wardrobe essentials which every college going student must own.

A big bag
No, no one goes to college carrying a single notebook in their hands. It only happens in Karan Johars movies or may be if you reside in college premises. There is so much you need to carry, your books, assignments, water bottle, umbrella, deodorant, scarf , wallet and of course your make up! Hence a big durable bag with lots of pocket should be on top of your shopping list.

Flip flops
From canteen to classes, from classes to corridors, from corridors to cinema halls, from cinema halls to cafes, you need to running around. From one place to another. Changing one metro for another. And in these times flip flops come to your savoir; they are not only super comfortable but also let your feet breathe. From flat to platform ones, markets are flooded with flip flops in every hue and color.

Sunglasses
Along with being great fashion accessories, sunglasses also protect your eyes from harmful UV rays.  Pick one according to your faces shape and size and up the oomph factor.

P.S- DO NOT WEAR THEM INDOORS.

Lots of Tees
T- shirts are every college going students best friend, no matter how many sultry spaghettis, cute dresses or trendy kurtis you may have nothing is as comfy and cool as a basic cotton T-shirt.

A formal shirt
While being casual and comfortable is the key for college dressing. There are times when we have to attend a few formal meetings, deliver presentations, appear for interviews and a simple , formal, crisp shirt is enough to take care of all that and makes sure you look a little less messy and well, well mannered.
Though these are a few important essentials what matters the most in every aspect of life is your confidence.

An adequate amount of confidence and a positive approach are the keys to achieve your goal (and they'll also make up for all the trendy clothes you don't own.)

Happy admissions :)

#Admissions at #DU is an amazing #experience by Manisha Panchal

The Path to success is never easy

Delhi University stands for excellence and brilliance. Its the mecca for learning the way of life. The immense popularity that DU enjoys in the country and overseas presently, is hugely responsible for the maddening rush every year at the admissions time. I vividly recall my time in 2014 as a baffled teenager, unknown to the ways of the world, arriving at the famed campus.

It intrigued me!

The endless hour's lines.

The crowd.
The gamut of admission seekers.
The very charm of it all was over whelming.

The appealing introduction about the college from volunteers and favour in knowing the college premises seems a relief in an unknown crowd.

The authorities do need to take certain strategic decisions and implement them in order to smoothen the process for the aspirants.

With every passing year, the rush for admissions is increasing by leaps and bounds along with the cut offs. The lucky few get the college and the course of their choice, whereas, others have to settle down for different and perhaps not so likeable options available.

The on campus residence being extremely limited is also another issue of concern for non-delhiites for which they have to run an extra mile.

Admissions at DU is an amazing experience.

People who have lived it know what I am talking about! :)

When we are fresh out of 12th class with sweet bitter feelings we await our results and once we have it. We turn to the next phase of our lives "college".

It's a lot of pressure and you may feel overwhelmed.

But you know what you'll get through it you'll and you know how I know because  I got in as well.

So don't worry try your level best and remember you'll get in and when you do you'll never want to leave.
