First step towards success that depends on the declaration of the Cut-Offs by Vaishali

First step towards success that depends on the declaration of the Cut-Offs by Vaishali

A big goodbye to your school life and welcome to your college life with joy. The time has almost come when your hard work is going to pay off. As the admission process has been started in Delhi University, students have started filling the forms. As the first cut off list is expected to come out in the last week of June, many students have started suffering from pre-cut off syndrome. This is a state of being happy, agitated, curious and enthusiastic at the same time. Ok! No need to worry as no such syndrome exists but this is what they actually feel a few days before the declaration of the cut off list.
Delhi University is the most sought after university for under graduation courses. Students become anxious because of the cut- throat competition. They go through a lot of emotional phases like at one moment they are nervous and at some other moment they are excited and elated it. It becomes difficult for them to keep themselves calm and composed. A new journey begins when a student steps into college. Nowadays, the hot topic of discussion among all the twelfth passed students is college and course as the time has come when their dreams are going to become a reality. Their preferences are going to help them in achieving their goals. These are the days when they have to decide for which course they should opt for and in which college they should take admission.
A day before the declaration of the cut-off list, they experience the same nervousness as they might have experienced a day before the declaration of board results. This is the time when they have to make up their minds and take their decisions carefully as their choices are going to build their future. They should opt for the course in which they are interested, keeping in mind that the right choice will help them climb the ladder of success. So, give priority to the subject you love.
Give time to your hobbies, utilize this time and hope for the best.
GOOD LUCK GUYS J

#First Day Of College Is #Right Ahead by Manisha Panchal

#First Day Of College Is #Right Ahead

Anticipation of meeting new people, the confusion of a new environment, the anxiety of the amount of work to do and perhaps the excitement of preparing your future. Those of us who are college veterans will never forget our freshman year at college. Some of us may like to forget our freshman year ,but in general it is a time filled with an anticipation, some anxiety, and wonderful discoveries.
For faculty, each year is a new beginning; new faces, new energy, and new discussions differ for many of these first-time students.
College is definitely a whole different ballgame compared to high school. Everyone has told you and you have probably spent the last two months of summer break psyching yourself up for the moment you walk on campus. But the truth is college is totally different. Classes are all throughout the day, you have no one telling you what to do in your free time, and of course, classes are everywhere across the campus. No one wants to end up walking around the campus.
When the first day of classes arrives, gives yourself enough time to shower, drink coffee, and perform all your other morning rituals. You're going to be excited and a little nervous about your first class, which is totally natural. Just stay calm and you will make it through the day. And ask for help when you need it: every student on campus has experienced what you are going through , and they will all be able to guide you through your first day.
The college experience is one that holds many pleasant memories, you may begin the journey as a scared mice, out in the open desert but make the best of it and trudge forward becoming a 'willful tiger'.
Make your first day with some of the good memories because it will not get back again ever.
Enjoy the Day,You can never have another first day of your first year of college classes.

COLLEGE – THE NEW BEGINNING By RISHABH ARYA

COLLEGE – THE NEW BEGINNING

Till now, you must have read a lot about how college is going to be like. And the purpose of this article is the same. But what makes this one different is that here are some points that every freshman should read so that your campus life does turn out what you expect it to be like (somewhat):

1. THE FIRST DAY (rather, the FIRST SEMESTER)
You are most likely to find yourself in a pretty lonely spot, friendless and wondering why the bloody heck you are where you are. You seem to observe yourself amongst creatures that are far different from you in every aspect. Though consider yourself lucky if you find a person like you or made some friends on the orientation day (if you attended it that is).
It is understandable that you might feel pathetic about your whereabouts. It’s okay because the awesomeness is yet to fill in the ambience. Just like you, there are a lot of awesome people who are yet to crack open themselves. Here’s a pro tip for you and those people: DONT JUST HOLE UP IN YOURSELF. GET UP, GET OUT AND SOCIALISE.
Getting out of your comfort zone can really make you a hero. It will help you make friends rather than acquaintances plus you will inspire people to get comfy too. See! You are a hero already and that too within a week.
2. SNIFF SOME SOCIAL AIR
College time leaves you with a ton of free time. Trust me, it does. As every good thing comes with great responsibility, utilize your newfound freedom and be smart. Cut back from solitary amusements and make friends, ‘contacts’, and more over feel like a responsible and an awesome person.
3. GETTING OVER THINGS
Get over the idea that your parents will still ask you as to what the teacher taught you today. You are more like an adult now who needs to take the responsibility of their own actions. Be independent, you will like it.
Secondly, getting over your home sickness can prove to be slightly hard but not impossible. One might feel nostalgic, missing your colony friends or your pet, etc. But it’s okay. If it gets too hard, go for the on campus counselling services.

So these were just a very few out of a lot of points about how you can think of college as. It feels strange in the beginning only to make you comfortable later on. So don’t worry, these point might help you have a good start of your campus life. But do remember that college is as much about finding out who you really are as it is about getting that degree. So stay tuned as more points are yet to come.

My First Day At College By Sarabpreet kaur

My First Day At College

Have you guys ever thought 'what your first day at college will be like or should be like?'. I have and  I'm sure you all must have.
I still remember my first day at college. I had looked forward to this day from my school days. I woke up early, which was quite unusual. Obviously, I had to get ready and be on time. After reaching the college, I entered with a mixed feeling of excitement and frightening fear of ragging. I found out from the reception that G-5 was my classroom. I entered the class as if I was entering a new world where I knew nobody and without even looking at anybody I quickly grabbed a seat on the first bench.
I felt awkward sitting in the class doing nothing. So, I thought of exploring my phone menu. Few minutes later, a girl came and sat next to me. Her name was 'Inu Agarwal'. I need not to tell you what happens when two girls meet as strangers,  they either becomes best friends or end up becoming enemies. Fortunately, we managed to become best friends. Soon chatting around became normal.
After few minutes, the bell rang. First lecture was about to start and a teacher entered the class 'Ms. Rekha'. She introduced herself and asked us to introduce ourselves to rest of the class. Everybody gave their introduction and soon the lecture came to an end. Rekha ma'am left the class and we all went to the canteen where our seniors were waiting for us to rag.
Everything went smoothly.  I met many new people, some of them became my very good friends. I was a bit nervous at first but when the day ended I was quite happy. Though, it wasn't really a very special day.

IT STILL FEELS LIKE YESTERDAY By INU AGGARWAL

IT STILL FEELS LIKE YESTERDAY

I remember my 1st day in college. I was excited to meet new people. It was a bit difficult at first to be with people I never knew. I was trying to adjust with new people and everything went smoothly. I met wonderful people whom I still call best friends. Every time when we meet up we recall those moments that we have shared together .“wo har roz late jaana “ , “phone kar k ek dusre ko tang karna “,“bunk karna “ ,”teachers ka mazak banana “, “ lectures mein sona “,“raat raat bhar group par baat karna aur maze karna “. It still feels like yesterday. There are no responsibilities to take care of family on issues related to me. College was like a roller coaster ride of ups and downs but with having a great bunch of friends, it makes you live your life to the fullest. Having wonderful friends makes college one of the best experiences of life. I have learned many things and the fun we had for 3 years was full of adventure and full of enjoyment .After stepping in the real world you will never remember the classes but yes you will remember the time that you have shared with your friends and the memories. Everything ends and in the last you are only left with the memories,We don’t know how time flies, how everything changes only you know is that u are in the best part of your life which you will never get.So stay out late on Monday hang out with your friends on Tuesday when you have exam on Wednesday.Spend money because the work never ends but college life does.

#Beginning of the #new #book and not the #chapter of your #life by Baani Chugh

#Beginning of the #new #book and not the #chapter of your #life

No, this is not the beginning of a new chapter in your life this is the beginning of a new book!

That first book is already closed, ended and tossed into the seas, this new book is newly opened has just begun!

Look, it’s the first page and it’s a beautiful one!

On the first day of your college you are filled with bittersweet emotions.

Sad about not having the same friends, excited about having better. Sad about not getting the college of your choice, excited about desired course at least.

Talking about my personal experience, orientation day seemed like an entry into a new world.

It was like ONE GIANT FRUIT BASKET WITH DIFFERENT KINDS OF FRUITS.

You see all kinds of people ,
People in fluorescent bandanas and people in flightfoot chappals .
People in high heels and plastic make up and people in oiled hair and nerd glasses .
You miss your school
you miss the familiar and comfortable feeling the walls of your school class room gave you.

You fail to realize how much these new walls will mean to you after three years.

It’s the time when you are confused about everything.

Slowly and steadily you start accepting the new people who are entirely different from you .
You are adjusted with the new environment.

And once you make friends you start loving your college life as well.

Give yourself a little time after all its the beginning .

My #first #day of #college by Gulshan Khan

My #first #day of #college

Since high school,I have been waiting to enter college. I always wanted to be a college student, a serious student who would decide what to be in his life. My first day of college was full of excitement, fantasy, fear and confusion too. It was a day of full of new experiences .I got into new educational building, different style of learning and met new people .since a serious period of my life began.

I woke up early and take auto to reach college, it is 20 km away from my home .when I entered into I felt that it was a fashion show. Then I walked to cafeteria and sometime spend there. I saw a notice board where schedule was posted.

Finally I entered into class it was full of around 60 students and there was a professor who was taking introduction one by one .I found a seat at the back and now it was my turn, I was not a good communicator, I was so nervous but somehow I managed.

After lecture over I tried to find out where is library, administrative office, sports room, and try to get information about societies (dance ,quiz, debate ,fashion etc).
So, first day of college for me like was like entering into an all NEW WORLD.

#Benefits of an #Off-Campus #college by Vaishali

Benefits of an Off-Campus College

Class 12th pass outs charge towards the big named and well established colleges of the Delhi University’s North and South Campus. In this race where only a handful hit the niche, a majority is left with the off- campus colleges or dropping the dream of Delhi University.
While many decide to permanently delete the Delhi University dream others decide to pursue graduation from the off- campus college; and believe me, latter once prove wiser. There are unique benefits of an off -campus college. Here are a few of them:
Lower cut-off - The Cut-off standards in the East and West Campus Colleges are not sky high as compared to other Delhi University colleges. One can easily get in with the score of around 70-75%. The bigger thing, it still remains a Delhi University college.
Less Crowded- Fewer crowds may seem a bore to few students but those who want themselves in conditions of peace, these colleges are perfect. You are away from the commotion of the campus and truly with yourselves.
Lesser competition- Because the crowd has been sieved, so has the competition. One can easily make a mark in their college, without the crushing competition and can emerge as pioneers in one’s field.
No Student Union- If you are sick of the students unions then these colleges may prove to be the best for you. The east and west colleges have no ABVP and no NSUI and so the politics regarding them is also not present.
Bunking proves tension free- This is student –to- student talk. Yes, this is a true fact. North and South campus colleges have strict bars for attendance. These are bars are a bit flexible in the off- campus colleges. So when you are out bunking you can give your 100% to it.
True, every coin has two sides. Alike are the Delhi University Colleges. Don’t just look at one side which is prominent. Think twice; make your decision, a wiser one.
