ACCOMMODATION FOR AN OUTSTATION STUDENT By Saloni Thakur

ACCOMMODATION FOR AN OUTSTATION STUDENT

So it is finally time to pack your old life into a few boxes and move out to a different city and start with a new life all together. There are various things one encounters which make it hard for students to accept this new life gracefully.  Of course missing home is one of them, also missing home cooked food is one issue which might at times make you hate this new world of yours. The luxuries of life are nowhere to be found and if you are a pampered child you are going to face some real trouble. The more adaptive you are the easier it becomes for you. But along with this there is a lot that you are going to enjoy and cherish. What you learn from staying alone can never be learnt with that constant guidance of the family. Getting yourself food or cooking to cleaning your room or washing your clothes make you more self reliant. And not to forget the freedom you get, will make you love your life. You get to meet new people, stay with them, make friends and finally exploring this new place will make your college life an unforgettable journey.
Along with all these things the most important issue is to look for an accommodation.  There are different options available to a student. You can move into a hostel or can pick up alternative accommodations like PG (paying guest) or flats.
·         HOSTELS
Hostels are one of the most common and preferred accommodations. Though not all colleges have hostel facility and many who do provide hostels have very limited seats. Therefore it’s considered the first choice for most outstation students and parents are keen on getting their child a seat. The major reason for it is the safety of this accommodation and comparatively lesser rent.
Students have to abide by the rules and regulations of the institute which are generally strict. These may be in the form of curfew deadlines or even leave regulations .Hostel mess food might also be an issue for many.  But all this will not stop you from enjoying your college life or for that matter hostel life.  This will bring you irreplaceable memories and lifelong friendships.

·         PG ACCOMMODATION
Paying guest accommodations are easily available around all colleges. It is one of the fastest growing businesses in Delhi. You will have a wide range of such accommodations to choose from providing different facilities and charging different rents. Food issues are not very common here because generally the owners and cooperative are open to suggestions regarding food. Curfew deadlines, adjustment issues with roommates and extremely high rents at certain places may be a problem.

·         FLATS
For many owning an own house and having full freedom along with being completely independent might be like a dream come true. But all these rosy imaginations are not that rosy. Managing a house on one’s own becomes a very cumbersome task. Grocery shopping, dealing with the daily dramas of the maids or bargaining with the vegetable vendors makes flat life hard and troublesome. Even if you do plan to move to a flat it’s important to consider the safety of the locality and it’s always good to share a flat than staying alone.  The benefits of calling your friends over any time or having a house party cannot be ignored. Also every time your parents visit you they have a place to stay. Shared flats generally costs lesser than a PG accommodation.

So before selecting an accommodation all the pros and cons should be taken into consideration and finally the one best suited for your comfort and convenience should be selected. Three important factors to be considered are proximity from the college, rent and most importantly safety.
ALL THE BEST!

#Life without #PARENTS! by Charu chellani

Life without PARENTS

OK!
The title chosen is a bit out of ledge. What made me write this is a question one might be thinking.
So.
an answer in one word..
PG OR HOSTEL STUDENT'S LIFE - life without parents’ protection, family question answering and constant poking by siblings.
Today, most probably students after passing 12th, after graduation, or after post graduation, are coming out from their hometown and far away from their families for further studies or for job placements, for proper facilities for their studies, proper guidance related to their future prospectus, will get growth and exposure. No one will be there for their care, security, and safety because it is not possible in everyone's case that they have their relatives at places where they are migrating. They have to lead their  life alone without parents ,have to do struggle and have to fight with the loneliness.
WHY PG OR HOSTEL is believed to be a turning point in students’ life?
By watching movies and soaps ,today's youth create an imaginary picture of pg and hostel life that pg and hostel is the place where only  "MASTI AND MASTI CHAARO AUR", "PARTIES KARENGE". We party animals think that they are going far from their parents ...YEAH! YEAH! WOW!!!!!! - No restrictions, no obligations, no question and answer session after coming late at home.
The only thing they will get- FREEDOM.
RESTRICTIONS AND KBC SESSION used to irritate kids and they treat home as a PRISON and they all are the PRISONERS.
Just one line they scream in a room-
                               "BHAAG CHALO YAHA SE".
They want to do parties with friends, hangouts with friends, night outs with friends, want to do by which they get KICK in their life. But when parents restrict them and do stop them for some reasons, we think parents are bounding us in a limits and boundaries.
THINKING-
WHY THEY ARE STOPPING US? WHAT ARE THEIR PROBLEMS? WHY THEY DON'T ALLOW ME TO ATTEND NIGHT PARTY AND ENJOY NIGHT LIFE?
You know what, I was wrong and right..I AM A BIG GIRL/BOY NOW.
but we will always a kid for our parents who learn how to walk by holding their fingers.
During watching television and suddenly our brother or sister snatch the remote from our hands and will change the T.v channel. After that TOM AND JERRY like fighting force us to think...OKAY I m here for some time ,will go from here , then no sister or brother for fights. No exchange of outfits, NO sharing of sweets and chocolates.
BUT after getting into pg or hostel, where no restrictions, no time limits, no tom and jerry like fights, no rules and regulations, rock and roll type of life. They come to know about reality that when they have to spend monthly pocket money on their expenses for which their parents never stopped. MONEY RESTRICTS THEM TO DO FUN. After getting bored because of tasteless food of pg or hostel, they remember the taste of mum's food. They will feel Where are their siblings? Whom they will do fight? With whom they will share their secrets and experience
PG life or Hostel life will give you new begging of life independently with new family and friends ( PG mates),with new caretaker ( landlord of pg ). You will become an independent  and responsible person. We learn how to manage expenses with the limited pocket money, how to take care of ourselves, how to fight with the loneliness because siblings are not here to entertain you with their idiotic activities, how to live life happily and keep smiling without tensions and stress.
We learn how to face problems of life alone. Fight with the problematic circumstances, and hot can we get out from them by many solutions and again come back to our future track and achieve goals.
YES. life is difficult to spend without parents without their restrictions and advises ,without entertaining siblings, without best friends but leading life as paying guest and as a hosteller ,things make you realize that parents stopped us because they knew what is wrong and right for us, about their struggle and sacrifices for us just make us able to reach the heights of sky ,their everlasting and unconditional love.
At last,
Lines to parents-
NO MATTER WHO OLD I GROW, I WOULD ALWAYS REMAIN THAT STUPID, LOVING AND SMILING LITTLE KID OF YOURS.
