Delhi University - Campus and out of Campus Colleges 

Presently, Delhi university rank amongst the top universities in all over India. The student of various states willingly want to join Delhi university. Because the popularity of Delhi university increased through the media and also the social media.

Presently, there are two campus in Delhi university. One is the north campus and other is south campus. The value and the position makes the campus colleges different from the out campus colleges.

NORTH CAMPUS

The North campus maintaining its position and prestigious level to the top. The colleges like Sri Ram college of commerce, St. Stephen , Hansraj, etc. The students who have scored maximum marks in their previous exam wants to join these top colleges because of the best placement by the best firms of India.The competition for admission into all north campus colleges of university of Delhi is extremely fierce. The reason is that the students who are passed out from their school. They want get admission in popular and well known colleges.

SOUTH CAMPUS

South campus is the second hand of the Delhi university. Colleges like Delhi college of Art and Commerce, Atma ram santaran dharma college, College of vocational studies etc, are some of the college that make the south campus of the Delhi university. This campus is well known for excellence in life sciences with departments like moleculor biology, Microbiology, biochemistry and also professional studies with departments like business economics and financial studies. South campus also provided the hostels(pg's) for outer students and also for the girls safety.

OUT OF CAMPUS COLLEGES

Out of campus colleges are not counted in the campus colleges but all are affiliated from delhi university. These are some colleges like Janki devi memorial college, Bharti college, Kalindi college Bhagini nivedita college etc, under delhi university are the extended off campus colleges.

The major drawbacks of out of campus colleges are the transportation problem. Especially for the girls safety. Because the most colleges of delhi university are situated at the outer region in delhi. There are lack of hostel facility for girls and boys. Hence, the off campus colleges are lack behind the colleges compared to south and north campus

SRCC attracts some of the most talented young people every year,not simply because of its reputation for excellence and infrastructure but more importantly because of its dedicated faculty.

#RAMJAS COLLEGE, is a constituent college of university of Delhi located in north campus. It is one of the first three colleges established under DU. Famous for its rich history and many traditions, Ramjas is widely renowned as one of the most famous higher educational institutions in India offering degrees in the liberal arts, the sciences as well as commerce. Student and alumni of the college are termed Ramjasite.

#St STEPHEN'S COLLEGE, Church of north India,is a christian constituent college of the university of Delhi,India. St. Stephen's offers degrees in the liberal arts and the sciences. The college has produced a long line of distinguished alumni including several Members of parliament, and the presidents of three countries. Students and alumni of this college are termed 'Stephenians'.

University Of Delhi has grown one of the largest universities all over the world with 16 faculties,86 academic departments,77 colleges and 5 other recognised institutes.

University LIFE!!

When I was hunting college last two years after graduating from school, Delhi University was what I chose.

So this is where the DU story began. Kalindi College it turned out to be and I’am happy I made this choice.

DU is basically a school after school.

All of the course syllabus are pre-decided and have been carrying on like that for ages. There is so much of free time that you can run a regular business along with it.

Believe me or not, DU is actually a research university.

There is a very high one-on-one   teacher student interaction. You can just stop and talk to your Professor . I guess it happens in every university but I personally did not expect this.

People of DU scare me.

North Easterners

They are the most colourful people. I personally love their dress sense and the way they keep themselves. They are pretty cool.

DU Girls

No, ‘’DU ki bandiyaan’’ are not all hot model. 

They are people , like you and me.

DU is a very strange place, believe me, what you wear, what you do, what you eat, you move around, No one cares. It’s true for every place I guess.

On winter evening there is no place more beautiful than the college campus.

Believe me ,  You will fall in love.

MOMOS POINT:

Momo’s Point is one of the oldest food joints to have cropped up in Kamala Nagar.

The initial menu comprised of the steamed pork, chicken and vegetarian momos. But as time and people’s palettes evolved so did the vibrant menu, now consisting of fried momos, tandoori momos, honey chilli potatoes, etc. The ultimate validation for the food, undoubtedly, is the queue outside at any given time of day.

Don’t miss the "Spicy chicken winglets and fried pork momos".

SOUTH INDIAN CAFE: 

If you’re craving some crisp medu vadas, or uthappams, South Indian Cafe is a great option.

Easily missed, this neatly tucked away cafe is just adjacent to Gwyer Hall nearly a decade old. Though not so much a cafe, it is essentially a few wooden tables put together, with mouth watering food that doesn’t tear a hole in your pocket. Anna’s kitchen also serves chicken biryani on Thursday nights, after 7.

BILLE DI HATTI :

This place is preferred by all looking for a quick bute without compromising taste .

Billi Di Hatti serves the famous punjabi dish CHOLLE BHATURE with a mouth watering Lassi .

SHRI BANKEY BIHARI BRAJWASI RASGULLE WALA:

Hidden among the lanes of Kamla Nagar this lesser know and hard to find outlet is a must visit for all Indian sweet lovers...It's located right behind Bille Di Hatti and serves one of the most authentic and creamy Rasmallai and soft Gulab Jamun you will find in Delhi.

A Journey: FASHIONISTA

How does it feel to be the part of DU’s one of the best fashion society? 

How does it feel to walk on the ramp?  

How does it feel to represent your college in all the fests? 

All these questions are often asked by the people and college mates.. I still remember my first day in college searching and asking each and every senior about the fashion society.

The day of auditions, that nervousness and anxiety all over my body. I remember the lines I was continuously whispering,

"oh goddd!!!! Pleaseeee.. bas aaj select  karwadooo”.

Then came my turn, wearing those high heels, with full confidence and a smile on my face, I headed up for the auditions. 

Guess what? 

Yes, I got selected (LOL) and this was the beginning of my journey as FASHIONISTA.

Designing the dresses, deciding the theme, making the props, all the gossips, selecting of songs, late hour practices etc made the most amazing moments of the society. 

The first show, I thought would be a blunder with the dramatic make up all over my face filled with graffiti’s and that back stage nervousness, I finally took my step towards the stage.. all the spot lights, loud music, huge audience. I just can’t forget that moment representing such a powerful theme of RAPE and my college, a moment of great prestige and we made it! 

We WON!! 

This was just the beginning.

Early morning metro rides, reaching the venues, refreshments, long tiring days.. I experienced it all just in the limited period of 3 months and it seems like forever. 

Two shows a day, sometimes made all the team members feel exhausted though an experience, I can never forget. Slowly our hard work paid off, winning 17 shows  and achieving the position of 2^nd best fashion society of Delhi University. 

My journey as fashionsita is the one I would never really want it to end. It’s just the 1^st year of my college and I got the most amazing experience of my life in the form of FASHIONISTA and it’s not the end.... 

It’s just the beginning.

Stereotypes are easy to form, and most of them are formed not only because a grain or two of truth in it but it makes assumptions easier and the joke funnier! Without these assumptions any joke would require long drawn out explanations that distracts from the joke.

Stereotyping is so deeply imbedded in our societies that within a group there is categorization of sub groups.   Delhi university has more than half a century of colleges all having different notions and labels attached to them.

If you are from St. Stephens you are a snob, if you are from SRCC then probably you are a nerd, if you are from LSR then you' re anti men and if you are from some lesser known college than these, then of course, you are the biggest loser on this planet!

Within a single university we form labels based upon someone’s college or course. While the English honors people are believed to be throwing elusive English words in regular conversations the one's pursuing Hindi or Indian languages are looked down upon . ‘University with diversities.’ Right? (Sarcasm intended!)

Well, there is always a little amount of truth attached to every stereotype but it’s illogical to form a conclusion based on those little evidences. Stereotypes along with being misleading are incomplete.

While there have been university toppers from not so popular colleges,  many at SRCC fail every year, LSR girls love and respect men and I have known the humblest of Stephanians.

Stereotypes create not diversity but divisions, and are often degrading for minor groups. Breaking of stereotypes will not break apart the institutions of our society but will build better ones.

Will not world be a better place if one known for is personality rather being judged upon their 'identity' ?
